Hello!
Just like everyone, I sometimes struggle to stay disciplined and on purpose. I am an artist and I love to create art. It is not only my purpose in life, it is a passion of mine. Would it surprise you to know that I have to discipline myself to paint? Well I do, and when I do, I am so much happier! Everything seems to go better and I realize how much time is wasted when I allow myself to get pulled in other directions.
What I create when I am on purpose is way beyond what I would do otherwise. Time seems to expand and I accomplish so much more. It is also in these moments when I am able to take my art to new echelons.
What is your purpose? I would like to encourage you to focus on finding your purpose if you don’t already know what it is. I believe everyone has a purpose. Can you imagine what an incredible world this would be if each of us was fulfilling our purpose? Make a list today of the things you can do to stay on your purpose and then pick one thing to do today. Then do it.
There are an infinite number of ways to stay on purpose. The important thing is that you do. Try it! You could surprise yourself.

About pommfineart
Pomm was born in Los Angeles but was raised by her French mother and grandmother and had a truly bi-cultural upbringing. Her mother, who was born in Paris, read a novel by French authoress Colette in which one of the characters was a little girl named Pomme. She loved the name, which means “apple”, and took the “e” off to ensure correct pronunciation.
While at college, Pomm moved to France and studied art in Aix-en-Provence. In Europe, Pomm fell in love with the Old World architecture, particularly in the southern regions of France where the sun and flowers inspired her to return again and again.
When she returned to America, Pomm made a firm decision to be an artist and attended watercolor classes with Scott Moore in Laguna Beach. She found that she loved the medium. Pomm created and perfected a unique style using only translucent watercolors applied in many layers that allowed her to paint the strong colors, light, and shadows that create the feel of Europe in her paintings. Within each work is Pomm’s artist “hidden apple”, the artist’s signature of authenticity and assurance of her high standards and exceptional quality of art.
In 2001, Pomm channeled her artistic talents towards honoring and helping others. After the Sept 11, 2001 tragedy, Pomm created “Unspoken Courage”, a painting which celebrates the unselfish heroism of all those who helped during the attacks.
From late 2003 until now, Pomm has created a series of oils that explore the spirit and motion of other artists in the creation of their art. Her work depicts people creating art of all forms, ranging from traditional to informal.
Recently, Pomm took the opportunity to travel the world with her husband, a pilot. She recalls that, “in each country we visited, I (experienced) as much of the native culture as I could. Seeking out the artists from these different cultures, it was wonderful to see how they expressed their lives through art.”
Throughout all of this, Pomm has remained an active member of Artists for Human Rights International. This is a group formed with the higher purpose of bringing artists together under the common goal of a raised awareness of every human’s basic rights. As the Director of Visual Artists, Pomm has helped to organize three exhibits in New York and Los Angeles while building membership and support for the group.
Yes, there seems no finer joy than to appreciate and admire life, it’s creativity and beauty. Very much looking forward to enjoying more of your work–it’s unique, piercing and transcending.

I just admired again your recent watercolor of roses in vases — I can smell and feel the roses, and sense the warm, sweet afternoon air. I guess you’re right: beauty is in the eye of the beholder — it’s what you make it

Hi, Pomm:
Just wanted to say that this post of yours is right on. I believe that you must stay on task to create meaningful work, and share that work with others. I saw you when you were at the Celebrity Center in Nashville last year, and since then, I have made sure to always do something “art related” every single day. Whether it is physically painting, working on my website, blog, twitter or facebook, or networking with local and national contacts to bring my work to others. Since I saw you last, I was lucky enough to get into my first gallery in Franklin, TN. I took pieces of your class and applied it to what I was doing daily, and have accomplished that goal of getting into a gallery, but also I am starting to teach classes in decorative tile painting as well so I can help build my client base. I will have classes between July through January 2011 thus far, and have visualized further goals that I intend to realize by the end of the year.
Just wanted to say ‘thanks’ for inspiring me! Have a great holiday!
